Betting on Carolina

Ok, I am going to let you in on a secret. Well, maybe it’s not a secret. I am sure you have already read this blog and put your money down on Carolina. However, if you didn’t, listen up. As a sports bettor, there is more than analyzing a match up. We also look for undeniable trends to wager on. No, I am not talking about betting against a team that has won ten times in a row.

Tonight, we have the golden opportunity to cash in on a trend in hockey by betting on the Carolina Hurricanes. You see, the Hurricanes are up 3-1 in the series and this game is all but over. Yes, the Oilers might make a game of it, but they will need to win all three remaining games, which happen to include two games in Carolina. The Hurricanes are -200 for a reason and that reason is lines makers expect the series to end tonight.

By utilizing a possible progressing betting system, we can almost assure ourselves of taking home the prize. Step one it to figure out how much you want to win total. Step two is making sure you have more than enough to cover two possible progression wagers. Step three is to head over to your favorite sports book ant put cash down on Carolina. I will explain why this is a golden opportunity in a moment. First, let’s look at how a possible progression line might go if our target was to win $10.

Bet One: $20 (Carolina is -200, so we must bet $20 to win $10).
Bet Two: $35 (If Carolina loses, game 6 is in Edmonton and Carolina might be -110 to -130 like before)
Bet Three: $130 (I am assuming that Carolina would be a -200 favorite again since it’s in Carolina. However, since Edmonton would have pushed the series to a game 7, it might be more even.)

As you can see, we increase our wager each time to cover past loses and to gain our original intention of $10.

Here are the reasons why this opportunity is golden and why I am all over this play.

1. Carolina is the better team. Remember, they are playing the #8 seed that has lost their goalie.
2. Of the 3 remaining games, Carolina has 2 at home, including tonight.
3. Teams down 3-1 in series tend to give up.
4. Edmonton has been down 3-1 in playoff series before (none in the Finals), they are 2-5.
5. Most importantly: In the history of the NHL, only one team down 1-3 in a Stanley Cup series came back to win.

The talent, the situation and the history is stacked against the Oilers. This is a rare moment in time when everything is in your favor. Could the Oilers come back? Sure, it’s possible, but highly unlikely. Use your own wisdom, but I wanted to share this opportunity with you.
