Game four of the NHL playoffs is tonight in Edmonton. The game goes off at 8:00 pm EST. The game is pretty much a pick em at most sports book. The under/over is 6 with the under being -125 and the over being +105. This is a critical game for both teams and really a must-win for both as well.

If the Oilers lose tonight, they will be in the hole 3-1 and they will be forced to win three straight including two at Carolina. The probability of this happening is very slim. Tonight’s game is really a win or go home affair for them. Jussi Markkanen shined in game 3 and now the team has confidence in him. It’s possible that game 4 will feature a more aggressive Oilers team—perhaps like the game one team we saw. While the pressure is on the Oilers, it’s on the Hurricanes as well.

The Hurricanes must win or they are in danger of letting #8 seed Edmonton right back in this thing. They had the Oilers right where they wanted them, but now everything is in jeopardy. They absolutely must win tonight. Should the hurricanes lose, confidence will be lost and the series will be on again. Cam Ward needs to step up and have a solid game. More importantly, the Hurricanes must get offensively aggressive and score. They can’t rely on scoring 1-2 goals and playing defense.

Game four tonight is going to be spectacular. Basically the entire series is riding on this game. Should Carolina win, wrap it up. However, if Edmonton can find a way to win and tie this series, we may be heading towards a series that takes all seven games to decide the outcome. Don’t write off Edmonton just yet. Tonight’s the night to step up or go home.
