Hockey Betting - The Carolina Hurricanes are still showing a bagel in the win column. Tonight they played their fourth game of the season and it got ugly. Tonight’s loss came at the hands of the Florida Panthers. The game looked pretty good after the first period. Just past the midway point in the first period Eric Belanger scored, which tied the score 1-1.
It was downhill after that. In the second period, the Florida Panthers added three more goals—Martin Gelinas, Olli Jokinen and Gary Roberts scoring. The game was 4-2 after the second period. In the third period, Olli Jokinen scored his second goal of the game and Stephen Weiss scored a power play goal with about 1 ½ minutes to go. The Panthers won 6-3 and handed the Hurricanes their 4th straight loss.
Is it time to panic? I don’t think so, but there is a serious lack of defense and goaltending in Carolina. They are now 0-4 and they have given up many goals. At this point, Carolina isn’t going to win unless they can score 5 or more goals per game. Here’s an odd sequence of events. Take a look at how many goals they have given up each game.
Game One: 3
Game Two: 4
Game Three: 5
Game Four: 6
Will they give up 7 goals in game five? It may be worth noting that one of their losses was in overtime.
