Sabres, Rangers : Thank You

The Buffalo Sabres downed the New York Rangers in game 6 of the Eastern Conference semis today and I’ll I can say is thanks.

This series was electrifying. It’s the kind of hockey that you want to see in the playoffs. Today’s game was offensive in nature and the perfect cap to a great series. How about those 4 goals by the Sabres in the 2nd period?

We almost got to see some more OT action from these two teams.

In the end, the better team won, but the New York Rangers can be proud. They handed the Sabres all they could handle.

It’s a shame that more of the country didn’t see this series. The NHL is in a freefall as a sport and this was a series that might have opened some eyes.

If the NHL is ever at a loss, here’s one idea—4 on 4 hockey all the time. You want excitement and offense? Go 4 on 4 for 60 minutes and hold on for dear life.

The Buffalo Sabres are moving on and look to be in line for a Stanley Cup bid. Next up for the Sabres is the Ottawa Senators, who took care of the NJ Devils to advance.

    I think that this was one of the best series in a while however, I feel that some of the officiating was sub par. There were many questionable calls and disallowed goals that could have gone either way. I know it is difficult to make the calls in the split second without the luxury of replays but with such a close series it needs to be made as fair as possible.

    Yeah, this series definitely had some issues. I kind of liked the drama.


    I feel the right team won in the end. The Buffalo Sabres are certainly the better of the two teams.

    Watching today’s game, I just felt like it was going to OT. It almost happened.
