Last night’s game seven was fast and furious. When the Hurricanes scored the first goal off of two lucky deflections, everyone looked to see if the Sabres would start losing hope. Instead, they played harder. In the second period, the Sabres scored the equalizing goal and then a go ahead goal with 3 seconds left in the second period. 90% of teams leading after the second period win the game in the NHL playoffs, so things looked good for the Sabres.
However, right away in the third period, the Hurricanes scored and tied the score. Later in the period they scored the go ahead goal. The Sabres just could not get the puck in the net after that. Finally, the Hurricanes scored an insurance goal to make the score 4-2 and that’s how it finished. The Sabres played extremely hard even though they were missing key players. A healthy Sabres team would have probably ran right through the Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes are now preparing to battle for the Stanley Cup in the finals against the Oilers. The series starts on Monday and the Hurricanes are favored by -145. The under/over is currently 6. The series price is -145 for the Hurricanes and +125 for the Oilers. The series should be exciting.
